Using your lab benefit through medical insurance is always an option as well, though please be aware that covered testing options are different for each plan. I wrestled with this for a long time - What was my role as a physician? - and what was God’s role? I knew I wasn’t God but sometimes I felt I was asked to be! I wanted to make “all things new.” I had to confront and submit that the healing is God’s part. My role as a physician is to study His Creation and use science to restore the body back to its naturally created form - that He made good. I believe we work with medication and Lifestyle Medicine wisdom (which is all found in the Bible’s truth) to restore the body back to the way it was supposed to live - full of life! In my field, this means identifying hormonal irregularity and replacing or supplementing hormones - but it’s never enough by itself. We also must discuss filling the body with healthy foods, moving the body the way it was intended, obtaining a healthy mental diet, finding true rest and connecting relationally.
